Booker T. Washington Planetarium: An Atmosphere of Learning

Founded in 1926 and re-built in 1999, the new campus is a world-class senior high school facility located in Miami’s booming downtown river district. The 20 acre campus includes state of the arts technology, science laboratories, digital CCTV studio, new planetarium, and the historic Chapman House which serves as an Overtown landmark and national historic site. The school is located right down the street from the University of Miami Medical Campus and Miami Jackson Hospital. Due to the hard work and deliberations of the Alumni, Booker T. Washington High School has served the Overtown and South Florida Communities, and students for over 85 years.
Man must rise above the Earth—to the top of the atmosphere and beyond—
for only thus will he fully understand the world in which he lives.
